Flower Remedies for Teenagers
Everyone knows the teenage years can be quite difficult and hard to cope with, but luckily there is a flower remedy for
each negative feeling or problem that someone might encounter during that time. For example:
Walnut is good for starting puberty—since it’s such a change—and Crab Apple can help us to keep from getting down on
our changing body and appearance, or fixating on blemishes such as pimples or our less attractive features. For peer
pressure and all the stress that comes from fitting in, there are remedies such as Walnut, Centaury, Agrimony, and
Holly which help us stay immune to criticism and pressure from others, so as to remain our true normal and happy
selves and live the life we choose for ourselves.
For depression or feeling down, there’s Mustard which helps us to experience the joy in life and to be alive in the
moment. There’s also Star of Bethlehem, Sweet Chestnut, or any of the other Despondency and Despair remedies
depending on why it is we happen to feel down or depressed. Clematis is good for when we just want to sleep all the
time, or very late. Cherry Plum is useful for helping control any violent or destructive urges that we might have, or for
and fears of our body acting in uncontrollable or embarrassing ways. It can also help with irrational suicidal thoughts.
For asking people out and dating, there is Mimulus, Cerato, and Larch which help us to be more confident and
unafraid. If we get rejected, there’s Star of Bethlehem to handle the sadness we may feel, and Holly or Willow if we’re
angry or resentful because of it...and Cherry Plum if we become destructive because of it. Clematis is good if we are
always day-dreaming about being with someone but are preoccupied or content with that alone, and never end up
actually asking them out.
Sweet Chestnut is good for if we ever feel horribly embarrassed or that what we are going through is the end of the
world, with nothing but pain and suffering to follow. Pine is good for if we are too hard on ourselves or angry with
ourselves for having said something stupid, and White Chestnut is good if we can’t stop thinking about an event or
occurrence—good or bad. Gentian can be good for getting back on the horse, as it were, and trying things again after
something goes wrong or we get rejected.
Being stuck at home can lead to lots of negative feelings, and Willow, Vervain, Cherry Plum, Holly, and Vine can help
prevent getting upset and in needless fights over things that aren’t fair or that can’t be easily changed. Centaury and
Chicory are good for the stress of needing to be recognized as adults. Impatiens is useful for the rush to grow up and
become an adult or to move out of the house, and Walnut, Larch, and Honeysuckle help when we don’t want to grow
up and move on to new and better things.
